Seams Sew Snugly Marshall County Quilt Guild Hosts Third Show

MOUNDSVILLE — The Seams Sew Snugly Marshall County Quilt Guild will host its third annual quilt show from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. March 16-17 at the Moundsville Training Center, located at the former West Virginia Penitentiary, 818 Jefferson Ave.

Quilters from throughout the Ohio Valley are invited to enter their quilts by next Sunday, March 11. Last year, 180 quilts were entered by quilters from Ohio, Marshall and Wetzel counties in West Virginia and Belmont, Jefferson and Monroe counties in Ohio.

The show includes a craft table, demos, quilt shop vendor, food and beverages, raffles, door prizes and more. There is an admission fee. Children under age 10 receive free admission.

The Seams Sew Snugly Marshall County Quilt Guild began in 2015 and held its first quilt show in April 2016. The show has grown from 155 quilts the first year. The guild meets at 6 p.m. on the third Thursday of the month at various locations depending on availability.

The club’s officers are president Nikki Geho, vice president Alma Cunningham, treasurer Michal Holt and secretary Melinda Simmons.
