Couple Marks 50 Years

Darol and Linda Dickinson of Barnesville are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary today, April 21.

They were united in marriage April 21, 1963 at the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Ellicott, Colo.

At the time of their wedding, she was a recent graduate of Blair Business College and he was a renowned horse portrait artist and photographer. Over the years, their family grew and so did their business interests. The Dickinsons began raising Texas longhorn cattle in 1967.

The Dickinson family has become one of the largest breeders of Texas longhorn cattle in the world. They operate Dickinson Cattle Co. and Longhorns Head to Tail Tours in Barnesville.

They are the parents of four children. The family includes Kirk and his wife, Linda, of Barnesville; Chad and his wife, Stefanie, of Texas; Joel and his wife, Misty, of Barnesville and Dela Lenz and her husband, Steve, of Ellicott, Colo. They have eight grandchildren.

The Dickinsons are celebrating their anniversary surrounded by their children and grandchildren.

Teddy H. and Judith K. Taylor Parsons of Moundsville will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, April 27.

They were united in marriage April 27, 1963 at Ash Avenue Church of God, Moundsville, by the Rev. Howard Rush.

Judy Parsons is retired from United National Bank, Moundsville.

Parsons is retired from PPG Industries, Natrium.

The family includes a daughter, Beth Baker, and her husband, Mark, of Moundsville. They have four grandchildren.

A reception will be held in their honor at Ash Avenue Church of God from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, April 27.
