Couple to Celebrate 50th

Bill and Karen Williams of Wellsburg will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, Sept. 7.

They were united in marriage Sept. 7, 1963 at the Central Baptist Church, Hinton, W.Va., by the late Rev. W. Robert McCoy.

Williams is the son of the late Thomas E. and Helen Williams Ventresca. He is retired from International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 553 and was the owner of Williams’ Barber Shop. The couple also owned The Classic Touch Barber and Beauty Salon. He is employed part time by Tommy’s Classic Touch.

Karen Williams is the former Karen Mazzella of South Charleston and is the daughter of the late Mary Caldwell and Cy Mazzella. She is retired from Brooke County Ambulance Service and employed part time at the Brooke County Solid Waste Authority.

They are the parents of three children. The family includes Holly King and her husband, Tim, of Garner, N.C.; Eberle Lazear and her husband, Jim, of Wellsburg; and Tommy Williams and his wife, Maureen, of Wellsburg. They have four grandchildren.
