Couple Marks 65 Years

Richard “Dick” and Juanita Cress of Wheeling will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary Monday, Nov. 25.

They were united in marriage Nov. 25, 1948 at Thomson United Methodist Church, Wheeling. They are now members of Covenant Community Church in Wheeling. They met in kindergarten at Madison School, Wheeling, in 1932.

Juanita Cress operated an import gift shop for more than 14 years offering items from all over the world.

Dick Cress was owner of Cress Studio of Photography where he spent 66-plus years in the photography business. He was the fourth generation of the Cress family to choose photography as their career. He served in the Navy in World War II.

They are the parents of three daughters.

The family includes Chris and her husband, Jay Adams, of Wheeling; Cathy and her husband, Charlie Savage, of Wheeling and Kim and her husband, Bob Barber, of Arlington, Va. They have six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
