Couple Marks 60 Years
Bill and Joann Willis of Moundsville celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Thursday, Jan. 16.
They were united in marriage Jan. 16, 1954 with the Rev. James Carmichael officiating.
Joann Willis is the daughter of the late Paul and Sadie Wayt. She worked at Super X drugstore and retired with 30 years of service.
Bill Willis is the son of the late Senate and Nettie Willis. He served four years in the Army during the Korean War. He then worked at Triangle Conduit and Cable Co. of Glen Dale and retired with 45 years of service.
They are the parents of four children. The family includes Barbara Wells and her husband, Clarence, of Moundsville; Darrel Willis and his wife, Teressa, of Moundsville; Cindy Mercer and her husband, John, of Moundsville and Carla Cunningham of Moundsville and her husband, the late Jeff Cunningham. They have 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
They were honored at Grand Vue Park, Moundsville, with a surprise party.
