Couple Marks 67th Year
John and Madelyn Taylor Potts of Fairmont, formerly of Pine Grove, will celebrate their 67th wedding anniversary Wednesday, March 26, and they will celebrate milestone birthdays this spring.
Madelyn Taylor Potts will celebrate her 90th birthday Saturday, March 22, and John F. Potts will celebrate his 91st birthday Tuesday, April 15.
They were united in marriage March 26, 1947.
Madelyn Taylor Potts was born in Big Run, W.Va., a daughter of the late Mollie S. Miller and Dewey Taylor Sr. She attended Big Run Grade School and Pine Grove High School. She was employed by Wayne’s Frosty Treat, Valley Diner and Barbara’s Country Cafe.
John F. Potts was born in Coburn, W.Va., a son of the late Marion and Fannie Potts. He attended Coburn and Big Run grade schools and Pine Grove High School. He is retired from Hope/Considated Gas Co. in Hastings, Brideport and Clarksburg. He also is retired from the area Short Line Church of Christ where he ministered at various congregations.
They attend the Church of Christ, Oakwood Road, Fairmont.
They are the parents of two daughters. The family includes Tonya L. Potts, deceased, and Sheila Kincell and her husband, Charlie, of Fairmont.
