Reeds Reach 50 Years

Robert and Lois Reed of Parkersburg, formerly of Weirton, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, June 7.

They were united in marriage June 7, 1964 at the Church of Christ in Dazell, Ohio.

Lois Reed is the daughter of the late Earl and Beulah Congleton of New Port, Ohio. She is retired from Fairmont State University.

Robert Reed is the son of the late William Foster and Freda Reed of Dart, Ohio. He retired from Monongahela Power Co. with more than 30 years of service; he worked in the Morgantown, Fairmont and Weirton offices. He is the owner of A-1 Engineering and ITG in Vienna, W.Va.

The family lived on Weirton Heights for three years. They were members of the Weirton Church of Christ.

They are the parents of two children. The family includes Michael Reed of Parkersburg and Heather Blizzard and her husband, Gary, of Fairmont. They have three grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.

They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at a small luncheon hosted by their children at the North End Church of Christ.
