Toepfers Celebrate 50th
Edward and Phyllis Toepfer of Wheeling celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Friday, June 20.
They were united in marriage June 20, 1964 at St. Joseph Cathedral, Wheeling, by the late Rev. Bernard Schmitt.
Phyllis Toepfer is the daughter of the late William Palmer and Helen Ruskowski Palmer. She is employed at the Hampton Inn, Wheeling.
Edward “Ed” Toepfer is the son of the late Lawrence Toepfer and Ruth Grimm Toepfer. He is an Army veteran and is retired from the West Virginia Department of Highways, Wheeling.
They are the parents of two children. The family includes Deborah Smith and her husband, Art, of Wheeling and Michael Toepfer and his wife, MaDonna, of Wheeling. They have six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A family dinner was given in their honor by their children.
