Fladings Hit 50 Years
William “Bill” and Mary Flading of Wheeling celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Friday, Aug. 1.
They were united in marriage Aug. 1, 1964 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Wheeling, with the Rev. Phillip Freeland officiating.
Mary Flading is the daughter of the late William “Red” and Elizabeth Parsons of Wheeling. She is employed by Chris Miller Furniture.
William Flading is the son of the late Roy E. and Rosemary Flading of Wheeling. He is retired from the city of Wheeling and Wheeling Central Catholic High School where he was a baseball and softball coach.
They are parents of three children. The family includes Cheryl Cross and her husband, David, of Wheeling; Denise Dunlap and her husband, George, of Wheeling and James Flading and his wife, Kerry, of Atlanta. They have 11 grandchildren.
The family surprised them with a celebration trip to the Outer Banks, N.C., where a great time was had by all, even surviving Hurricane Arthur.
