Couple Marks 50 Years
William E. and Brenda Coffield of Moundsville will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Friday.
The high school sweethearts were united in marriage on March 31, 1967, at 7:30 p.m. in a candle-lit, double-ring ceremony at the Limestone Presbyterian Church, officiated by the Rev. W.W. Stein.
Bill Coffield is the son of the late Clarence E. and Doris Allen Coffield. He is a U.S. Army veteran, having served in Korea, and is retired with 36 years of service from the former Ormet Corp.
Brenda Coffield is the granddaughter of the late Lonnie and Mabel Francis, who raised her, and the daughter of the late Basil H. and Katherine Francis Hudkins. She is a retired secretary from Marshall County Schools with 26 years of service, 25 of those as the secretary in John Marshall High School office.
They also are the owner-operators of Oak Dale Farm.
They are the parents of two sons: Todd of Moundsville and Jason (Melissa) also of Moundsville. Three grandchildren complete the family.
They will be honored at several small parties planned by their children and friends, and they plan to take numerous trips through out the year to celebrate.
