Stricklins Mark Golden
Arthur W. and Susan M. Stricklin of Wheeling celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday.
They were united in marriage Oct. 28, 1967, at Elm Grove United Methodist Church with the late Rev. James Browning officiating.
Susan Stricklin is the daughter of the late Paul and Virginia Barcus Kocher of Wheeling. She is a 1965 graduate of Sherrard High School and was employed by Ohio County Schools for 36 years as a school secretary. She is retired from Middle Creek Elementary School and also worked at Madison and Elm Grove schools and the central office.
Arthur Stricklin is the son of the late Charles and Ethel Wells Stricklin of Roney’s Point. He is a 1964 graduate of McKinley Vocational School and a retired heavy equipment mechanic who worked at RECO Equipment in Morristown and Savage Construction in Wheeling.
They have two daugthers. The family includes Stephanie White and her husband, Jess, of Philippi, W.Va., and Jennifer Stricklin of Wheeling. They have three granddaughters and one grandson.
A special dinner was given in their honor on Oct. 21.
