Whites to Celebrate 50th

Doris and William R. White of Valley Grove will celebrate their 50th wedding Friday.

They were united in married at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church in Fairbanks, Alaska, on Dec. 29, 1967.

Doris White is the daughter of the late Wallace and Faith Carter of Fairbanks. She is a retired registered nurse, set nurse and costume maker for television and movie productions in California, with work on “On Deadly Ground,” “Power Rangers,” “Herman’s Head,” a remake of “The Munsters” and other projects.

Bill White is the son of the late Robert and Mary White of Wheeling. He retired as general manager of a building material business after a career in the can business.

They are the parents of Sean (Gail) of Simi Valley, Calif., and Shannon (Jeff) of West Hills, Calif. They have five grandchildren.

They will be celebrating with a small getaway in Uniontown, Pa. In the new year, they intend to move west and discover a new adventure in their life together.
