Provances Mark 60th

Frank and Elizabeth Provance of Dallas celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on June 28.

They were united in marriage on June 28, 1958, at North Buffalo Presbyterian Church outside Washington, Pennsylvania, with the Rev. Mark Scott officiating.

The couple met at Claysville High School in the school band. After they were married, they lived in Taylorstown, then Claysville and later Irwin, Pennsylvania, before moving to the Wheeling area, eventually settling on a farm near Dallas.

Elizabeth Provance was a nurse practitioner at Wheeling Hospital.

Frank Provance graduated from Bethany College and Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. He owns Sand Hill Sports on Stone Church Road near Elm Grove, Wheeling.

The couple has four children. The family includes Barry of Elm Grove, Wheeling; Sherrie and her husband Albert Mestrovic of Valley Grove; Aaron and his wife Jenna of Boulder, Colorado; and Betsey and her husband Tom Smith of Penn Hills, Pennsylvania. They have eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Their children hosted a dinner to celebrate the occasion on July 15 at Vance Memorial Presbyterian Church in Wheeling, followed by a party at the Provance camp on Big Wheeling Creek.
