Dr. Valerie Palmer and Blake Lindell announce their engagement.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Dr. John and Rose Palmer of Wheeling.

Her fiance is the son of James and Mary Lindell of Fenton, Mich.

She is a 2008 Wheeling Central Catholic High School graduate and received a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the West Virginia University School of Pharmacy in 2014. She is employed at the University of Michigan as a clinical ambulatory specialist pharmacist.

He is a 2006 graduate of Fenton High School in Fenton, Mich., and graduated from the University of Northwestern Ohio in Lima, Ohio, with two applied science degrees in engineering and automotive high performance technologies. He is employed at General Motors Proving Grounds as a facility coordinator.

An Oct. 13 wedding is planned at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wheeling.
