Lee Set to Perform In ArtsLink Series
Pianist Gerald Lee will return to New Martinsville next week for a performance as part of the 2014-15 ArtsLink Concert Series.
Tickets will be available at the door. This concert is sponsored by Logan Hassig.
Lee, professor of piano at West Liberty University, will perform at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 15, at First Christian Church, 521 Maple Ave., New Martinsville. The concert will mark Lee’s fourth invitation to the Parlor City by ArtsLink, the arts council for Wetzel and Tyler counties. After the concert, Lee will conduct a master class for local piano students.
Lee has been a full-time faculty member at West Liberty since 2002.
He earned three piano performance degrees: Bachelor of Music, Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts from Illinois Wesleyan University, Indiana University and the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, respectively.
A winner of several awards, Lee enjoys maintaining an extensive schedule of solo and chamber music performances. Passionate about the works of Alexander Scriabin, he continues to present lecture-recitals featuring Scriabin’s piano sonatas at numerous College Music Society conferences.
Lee serves as chair of competitions and first vice President for the West Virginia Music Teachers’ Association. He is a frequent adjudicator for piano competitions.
