Home Repair Workshop Set

A “Basic Home Repair Workshop for Women” will be offered next month on the Wheeling campus of West Virginia Northern Community College.

The workshop will be held from 6-9 p.m. on three consecutive Thursdays, Nov. 5, 12 and 19, in the first floor lab of the Applied Technology Center, corner of Market and 16th streets, downtown Wheeling. Parking will be available behind the center.

Included will be lectures, demonstrations and hands-on applications in the areas of basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry and masonry along with safety procedures.

Dr. David Shahan, vice president of economic and workforce development at Northern, said the workshop will teach “the skills needed to accomplish the basic kind of repairs that crop up around the house that women may like to know how to do instead of having to call for assistance.”

Registration for the workshop is available at the student service area of any Northern campus. For more information, call Shahan at 304-214-8967.
