Marshall County Library To Feature Campfire Stories

Moundsville-Marshall County Public Library will offer campfire storytelling sessions at Grand Vue Park among its fall children’s programs.

The special stories, told by Rich Knoblich, will take place at 7 p.m. Thursdays, Oct. 6, 13 and 20.

Fall preschool storytime sessions for 3- to 5-year-olds take place at 11 a.m. most Tuesdays and Thursdays and 1 p.m. Wednesdays. Each class meets for 45 minutes and includes stories, songs, games and simple art projects and socialization.

At 11 a.m. Oct. 15, the library will show “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory,” rated G, starring Gene Wilder.

At 10 a.m. Oct. 24, a Halloween program, “The Cat in the Hat Knows A Lot About Halloween!”, will be shown. This hour-long screening is the kickoff event for the Inquire Within project, powered by Chevron with WQED & PBS Kids.

At 4:30 p.m. Oct. 27, there will be a screening of “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.”

At 6 p.m. Nov. 9, children 12 and under can meet the Powhatan Indian princess, Pocahontas, and John Smith, the colonist she saved. There will be a Native American craft and treats inspired by harvest time.

At 3 p.m. Nov. 19, following the Moundsville Christmas parade, Curious George will be on hand to meet and greet children as part of the Inquire Within programming.
