Sports-Themed Damon’s Famous for Ribs, Onion Loaf

Steubenville — It’s menu items like their “famous” barbecued ribs and onion loaf that keep people returning for a variety of great food at Damon’s Grill and Sports Bar in Steubenville.
Supervisor Pamela Morris said they continue to offer their guests great food in a friendly sports themed restaurant and lounge. The main dining area has four large flat-screen televisions that continuously carry sports programming for your viewing enjoyment.
Damon’s offers a variety delicious entrees including: their “famous” barbecued ribs, ribeye steak, flamed grilled chicken, almond-crusted salmon, fried fish dinner, chicken piccata and a variety of pasta dinners and pizza. In addition, they offer a variety of popular sandwiches, wraps and salads including: Damon’s Southern Barbecue sandwich, the Califorinia Chicken Wrap and a “Harvest” chicken salad.
Morris said their “fall-off-the-bone” ribs and onion loaf continue to be customer favorites. She said their “Live Team Trivia,” held every Tuesday night, always is popular with area residents. They give away restaurant gift cards for prizes.
“We have a hostess who asks the questions and they play music in between. … We get very busy,” said Morris. “The restaurant gives a $30 gift card for first place, a $15 gift card for second and a $5 gift card for third,” she added.
Situated in one corner of the restaurant is a special events Franciscan University themed room, called the “Baron Room,” which is ideal for small groups or clubs and seats up to 25 people. Damon’s is located at 1401 University Blvd., next to the entrance road to Franciscan University.
Damon’s hours of operation are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday-Saturday, with the bar staying open till 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday only, and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m, Sunday. For information or to reserve the Baron Room, call 740-282-7427.
