YWCA Organizes Health, Beauty Expo

To help new mothers, grandparents, foster/adoptive parents and other guardians, the YWCA Wheeling is hosting its first Health, Beauty and Wellness Expo focusing on interracial and biracial hair and skin care. Sponsored by the YWCA’s cultural diversity and community outreach department, the event will feature vendors, demos and information and will take place from noon to 3 p.m. June 24 at the YWCA Wheeling, 1100 Chapline St.

“This demographic is relevant because the world we live in today is one of constant blending and coexisting. Now more than ever, we are truly a melting pot. There are distinct differences in the hair and skin care of interracial/biracial individuals,” said Ron Scott, YWCA cultural diversity director.

“This expo is to provide insight, support, advice and practical demonstrations.”

Vendors, such as Just Me Salon and Cloud 9 Salon & Spa, also will provide information for men and women looking for “new and effective ways to be healthy, beautiful and well,” Scott said. Additional vendors are expected.

The Health, Beauty and Wellness Expo will take place on the second floor of the Wheeling YWCA at 1100 Chapline Street.
