OVConnect Carves Out Pair of Events With Zoo

Pumpkin Decorating Sessions Set for Boo at the Zoo

The young professional networking group, OVConnect, is partnering with Oglebay Good Zoo to host Pumpkin Carving for Boo at the Zoo on Wednesday and again on Oct. 25. Both events begin at 6 p.m..

Wednesday’s event is a family-friendly program where adults and children will be welcome to Oglebay Zoo and provided with a pumpkin and carving kits. There is a fee per person. Pizza and kid-friendly drinks are included.

The second event on Oct. 25 will be an adults-only pumpkin carving. There is a fee, and the evening includes a pumpkin, kits and pizza. Adult beverages will be available for purchase for those of age.

The pumpkins carved will be placed throughout Good Zoo for Oglebay’s annual event, Boo at the Zoo. The pumpkins from the family night will be on display for two weeks before being replaced with the pumpkins carved from the adult night.

Community members interested in either event must register at ovconnect.org/schedule-of-events. More details are available on the Facebook event page, OVConnect & Oglebay Pumpkin Carving for Boo at the Zoo.

Boo at the Zoo will take place Oct. 13-15, Oct. 20-22 and Oct. 27-29. The hours are 6-9 p.m. Fridays and 4-9 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Rates for Oct. 13 — dubbed Freaky First Friday — are reduced. To purchase tickets online, go to www.oglebay.com/boo-at-the-zoo/

The zoo is decked out with Halloween decor and offers treat stations and a spooky train ride.

Advance purchase tickets can be picked up in the zoo office prior to the event or will be available in the advance purchase ticket line at the zoo each night of the event. Train tickets are sold separately.

Tickets also are available for purchase at the zoo. Zoo members receive a discount. For information, call 304-243-4100.
