Ohio University Eastern Schedules College Credit Plus Information Night

ST. CLAIRSVILLE — Students in grades 6-11 and their parents are invited to attend College Credit Plus Information Nights at Ohio University Eastern Campus at 6 p.m. Feb. 22 in the OUE Theater located in Shannon Hall. This is the second information night; the first took place Tuesday. Attendance is required only once.

College Credit Plus is an opportunity for qualified students to earn college credits prior to their graduation from high school. All tuition and textbook costs are free. In addition, the college credits earned count toward high school graduation requirements and are designed to transfer to most public universities in Ohio.

“College Credit Plus Information Night is a great opportunity for prospective students and their parents to learn more about the program, the application process, and expectations of the program,” said Jay Morris, coordinator of College Credit Plus at Ohio University Eastern. “The sessions will include a question and answer session with OUE faculty, administrators and current students in the program, who will share their experiences.”

According to Morris, the program benefits many local students each year. One recent success story is Ashlyn Doudna of Buckeye Trail High School.

“The College Credit Plus program at Ohio University Eastern has been a wonderful opportunity for me,” Doudna said. “I am so happy that I followed through with it as I am on track to earn an Associate of Science degree from Ohio University at the same time that I graduate from high school. OUE has provided a great learning environment for me, plus I saved a great deal of time and money.”

Interested participants are encouraged to RSVP by calling 740-699-2536 or emailing Morris at morrisj @ohio.edu.
