Nights Out Planned For Mothers, Sons
Mother’s Day weekend offers moms and sons two opportunities to “just dance, dance, dance.”
The United Way of the Upper Ohio Valley kicks off the weekend on May 11 with a mother-son dance at Grand Vue Park Banquet Hall in Moundsville.
The Ohio County Family Resource Network will host its third annual mother-son dance titled Mother, May I Have This Dance? from 6-8:30 p.m. May 12 at the McLure Hotel on Market Street in Wheeling.
Mother’s Day this year is May 13.
Many moms work tirelessly every year to get their husbands and daughters ready for the annual father-daughter dance, so for this dance, they and their sons get to enjoy an evening out, according to a press release from the Family Resource Network.
For the Moundsville dance, from 6-9 p.m. May 11, snacks, drinks, desserts, pictures and prizes will be provided. DJs Donnie Gilbert and Dugger will provide dance music, and there will be a basket auction and raffle.
Tickets are $25 per couple and $5 per additional guest. Funds raised will go to the United Way of the Upper Ohio Valley.
For tickets or more information, call 304-232-4625 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
For the Wheeling event, a DJ will provide music. The ticket price covers heavy hors d’oeuvres, cake, refreshments and parking in the McClure lot, plus crafts and door prizes. For an additional cost, attendees will have an opportunity to purchase photo packages and chances on a variety of themed baskets. This year, WallaceImagery will be taking photographs. Beyond Balloons LLC will provide the decorations for this year’s emoji theme.
Tickets for each mother/son couple can be purchased online through Eventbrite.com. Checks may be made payable to the Ohio County Family Resource Network for $30 (add $10 for each additional son) and mailed to the OCFRN office, 56 13th St., Wheeling, WV 26003, or email OhioCountyFRN@yahoo.com to schedule a time to purchase tickets at the office. Space is limited, and tickets must be purchased by May 1.
Joe’s Pre Owned Auto continues to support the Ohio County Family Resource Network through annual sponsorship of this event. Additional sponsors and door prize donations are needed. Anyone interested may email OhioCountyFRN@yahoo.com or call the office at 304-232-5600.
