The Moundsville-Marshall County Public Library, 700 Fifth St., will offer a special after-hours film presentation of “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri,” rated R, in the library’s lower level at 6 p.m. Thursday.
The film showing is free and open to the public. Attendees may bring snacks and seat cushions. Anyone in need of the chair-lift should arrive by 5:50 p.m. or earlier.
The Ohio County Public Library, 52 16th St., Wheeling, will be closed Monday in observation of Memorial Day. Normal library hours will resume Tuesday.
Lunch With Books
Writer Chris Rodell of Latrobe, Pennsylvania, will return to Lunch With Books at the Ohio County Public Library, 52 16th St., Wheeling, at noon Tuesday to share stories from his new book, “Arnold Palmer: Homespun Stories of The King.”
In this volume, the journalist drew upon more than 100 interviews with the golf great conducted over 20 years.
Lunch With Books programs are free and open to the public. Attendees may bring a bag lunch; complimentary beverages are provided.
A lecture series at Grave Creek Mound Archaeological Complex, 801 Jefferson Ave., Moundsville, will continue at 7 p.m. Thursday. Susan Weaver, director of the Museum of Ceramics in East Liverpool, will discuss “East Liverpool Potters Southbound to West Virginia.”
The program is free and open to the public.
Valley Hospice will hold its fifth annual “A Hero’s Salute” Memorial Day concert and celebration at 7 p.m. Thursday at Warren Township Park in Tiltonsville. The concert, featuring music by the Buckeye Local High School jazz band, is part of the park’s summer concert series.
The concert is free of charge and open to the public. Concessions will be available. There is no seating, so guests are advised bring lawn chairs.

Indoor Yard Sale

The Catholic Women’s Club will hold a used book sale in the top parking lot at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wolfhurst, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and from 8:30-9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. next Sunday.
The interpretive garden at Grave Creek Mound Archaeological Complex, 801 Jefferson Ave., Moundsville, will be planted from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday. The program is free and open to the public.
Guests will plant crops chosen for the garden based on archaeological data and Native American traditions, such as sunflowers, corn, beans, squash and gourds. Visitors can plant seeds in small hills of earth using a replica of a prehistoric stone garden hoe.
In the museum’s activity room, an educational display of seeds, books and other items will be provided courtesy of Marian Meg Phillips, along with activities relating to the interpretive garden.
A rummage sale will be held in the parish hall of Our Lady of Lebanon Church, 2216 Eoff St., Wheeling, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 8 and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 9. Cedar Cllub members will sell concession-style food. For more information, call 304-242-6853.
