NEW MARTINSVILLE — ArtsLink’s Coffeehouse Series will kick off at 6:30 p.m. Friday with a concert by The Psychonauts band with local singer/guitarists Kalob Byers and Keith Butcher.

The concert will take place on the lawn of the Francis Creative Arts Center at the corner of Maple Avenue and Washington Street.

The duo plans to release an album called “Existence and the Human Response,” Byers said.

“It’s progressive rock, and its theme is philosophy associated with general existence and perspectives on humanity all that good stuff! The album will also include several sit in musicians from here to Pittsburgh adding sound variants ranging from progressive rock and jazz to elements of folk rock.”

They also will perform covers of classic favorites.

ArtsLink president, Barbara Vincent, said: “We’re delighted to present these talented local artists. Rain or shine, bring a lawn chair and enjoy great entertainment!”

ArtsLink’s Summer Coffeehouse series is sponsored by Wetzel County Convention and Visitors Bureau.
