Artists On Call to Present ‘An Ohio Valley Christmas’

MOUNDSVILLE — Artists On Call is hosting its third annual holiday fundraising performance event, “An Ohio Valley Christmas,” at The Strand Theatre in Moundsville at 7 p.m. Dec. 1.

This is a family-friendly show that is sure to get folks into the holiday spirit, organizers said. There is a cost. Tickets are available by calling 740-815-8842.

This cabaret-style show will provide many Ohio Valley artists the opportunity to showcase their talents. Performers include: the popular group MSM (Miller Smith Mazure), Stevie Lynn Boles, 2Broke Country Girls (Jamboree USA stars Lois Scott and Diana Lynn), Jamboree USA star JoAnn Davis, Sherrard Middle School Choir (directed by Michael Murphy), Dirk Roe, John Stauver, Debbie Burnsworth, Diane Coughlan, Samantha and Jessica Jazinski, Kelly and Susan Moore, D. David Stiles, Casey Tucker-Biela, Julie Zogg, Marion Stolz, Timothy O’Grady III and the organization’s founder Nikki (O’Grady) Fleming.

Sponsors for the Christmas show include: Tim O’Grady State Farm Insurance, Belmont Savings Bank, Unique Treats by Jacquie, Beads by Suz, Cutie Pie Quilts, Amanda Deshong and anonymous donor.

Artists On Call’s efforts support programs within our organization and those in the community. Currently, this includes:

∫ Nick Trolley Memorial Music Scholarship, which is a perpetual scholarship open to any Ohio Valley college-bound student pursuing musical/performance studies;

∫ Wheeling Hospital Oncology Department — A portion of proceeds are being donated in support of blessing bags for the patients of this department of Wheeling Hospital; and

∫ Beacon House Assisted Living — The group is making and donating handcrafted Christmas cards for the residents of the facility and will also be providing the residents a Christmas sing-along in December.

Additional holiday activities Artists On Call is hosting this year are:

∫ Nov. 25 – Painting, Chalking, Card-Making and Chunky Knit Blanket Workshops at the Shadyside American Legion, 3809 Central Ave., Shadyside. Snacks will be available, including a homemade doughnut bar.

∫ Dec. 9 – Holiday Marketplace (Handcraft/Vendor Fair) at Shadyside American Legion, 3809 Central Ave., Shadyside, featuring live entertainment, lunch and hot cocoa bar.

Artists On Call is a nonprofit community of professional artists of many disciplines who use their talents to give back. When people attend the fundraising events, they are supporting a small business artists and the community.
