Rachael J. Davis will celebrate her 95th birthday today. She was born in West Milford, West Virginia in 1923, the daughter of the late Homer Nichol and Virginia Dee (Boring) Wolfe.

She was married to Frank M. Davis, who passed away in 1978. They have four daughters: Donna Krach of Newnan, Georgia; Susan (King) Stumpp of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; Barbara Davis of Newnan, Georgia; and Paula Coleman of Wheeling. Davis has seven grandchildren and two great-grand children.

Davis was formerly employed as a registered nurse in Clarksburg and Wheeling, retiring from the Peterson Hospital rehab facility to serve as a Peace Corps volunteer in the Philippines, followed by serving as a nurse at Red Bird Mission in Beverly, Kentucky. Years later, she worked as a park guide at Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument near Silver City, New Mexico. She greatly enjoyed traveling, including camping across many areas of the United States with her friend Kate, a fellow Peace Corps volunteer.

Davis currently resides at Elmhurst in Wheeling. She will celebrate her birthday with family and share a birthday cake with Elmhurst residents and staff.
