Roosevelt Portrayer To Address Woman’s Club

WHEELING — The Woman’s Club of Wheeling will meet Friday at Monument Place, 91 Kruger St., with a portrayal of the 26th U.S. president planned.

A book review will be presented at noon. Judy Szymalis will review “Doc” by Mary Doria Russel. Each year, the club’s arts community service program schedules three book reviews.

A general meeting will begin at 1 p.m. President Patty Travis will preside.

The program will feature Ted Dudra who will offer a first-person presentation on Theodore Roosevelt.

Dudra is a re-enactor of four wars spanning 200 years of American history. He is retired from teaching science and now works with homeschoolers in the Christian Home Educators Cooperative in Akron.

A spring style show and luncheon will be held at Generations Restaurant, 336 National Road, at noon March 29. Tickets will be on sale at Friday’s meeting. The event is open to the public.

Members of the club will model clothes from Macy’s. A basket raffle and 50-50 raffle also will be offered. For tickets, call fundraising chairman Joyce Spurlock at 304-280-6993.
