The 2019-2020 Broadway at the Capitol season lineup include:
∫ “Beautiful — The Carole King Musical,” Oct. 7. Tells the inspiring true story of King’s remarkable rise to stardom, from being part of a hit songwriting team with her husband Gerry Goffin, to her relationship with fellow writers and best friends Cynthia Weil and Barry Mann. Featuring a stunning array of beloved songs, including “I Feel The Earth Move,” “One Fine Day,” “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman” and more.
∫ “Jersey Boys,” Oct. 23. They were just four guys from Jersey, until they sang their very first note. They had a sound nobody had ever heard … and the radio just couldn’t get enough of. But while their harmonies were perfect on stage, off stage it was a very different story — a story that has made them an international sensation all over again.
∫ “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musical,” Dec. 17. Following a sold-out engagement, this classic family tale returns to Wheeling. The story tells the tale of a young Rudolph who, because of the appearance of his bright, shining nose, is excluded from the Reindeer Games. He flees Christmastown and meets up with new friends Hermey the Elf and Yukon Cornelius.
∫ “Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story,” Feb. 21. Experience the drama, passion and excitement as a cast of phenomenally talented actors and musicians tell Buddy Holly’s story, from his meteoric rise to fame, to his final legendary performance at The Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, Iowa.
∫ “An American in Paris,” April 21. The Tony Award®-winning musical about an American soldier, a mysterious French girl and an indomitable European city, each yearning for a new beginning in the aftermath of war.
∫ “The Color Purple,” May 18. The 2016 Tony Award winner for best musical revival – a joyous American classic about a young woman’s journey to love and triumph in the American South.
