Cumberland Trail Genealogical Society will meet in the St. Clairsville Public Library’s meeting room, 108 W. Main St., at 6:30 p.m. Monday. All meetings are free and open to the public.
The guest speaker will be Patrolman Michael Duplaga of the St. Clairsville Police Department. Duplaga, who is the school resource officer for the St. Clairsville-Richland City School District, will talk about the problem of vaping.
The Chrisagis Brothers will present their new book, “A Legacy of Love,” at the Moundsville-Marshall County Public Library, 700 Fifth St., at 6 p.m. Monday.
Copies of the book and a limited selection of their recorded music will be available for purchase and signing after the book talk. Light refreshments will be served.
Sand Hill Club
The Sand Hill Community Educational Outreach Service Club will meet at Bob Evans restaurant at The Highlands at noon Tuesday. Nancy Moss and Ruth Milliken will serve as hostesses. After a business meeting, Nancy Hartzell will present a lesson, “Apple Cider Vinegar Myths and Facts.”
Lunch With Books
A Wheeling Poetry Series program will be presented for Lunch With Books at the Ohio County Public Library, 52 16th St., Wheeling, at noon Tuesday.
West Virginia Poet Laureate Marc Harshman will introduce award-winning poet John Hoppenthaler. He is an English professor at East Carolina University and the author of three books of poetry. For nine years, he served as personal assistant to author Toni Morrison.
Lunch With Books programs are free and open to the public. Attendees may bring a bag lunch; complimentary beverages are provided.
Baked Steak Dinner
Warwood United Methodist Church, 1438 Warwood Ave., Wheeling, will hold a baked steak dinner from 4:30-6:30 pm. Tuesday. Take-out orders will be available without beverage. Dinner will be served rain or shine. After the dinner, Crazy Horse will play country music in Garden Park.

The Seams Sew Snugly quilt guild will meet in the gymnasium of the former St. Francis Xavier School, 600 Jefferson Ave., Moundsville, with social time at 5:30 p.m. Thursday. Snacks will be provided. Members are to bring their own beverage.
The meeting will begin at 6 p.m., followed by Paper Piercing Heart instruction and demonstration by guild member Sandi Blackwell. Members are to bring a sewing machine, sewing accessories and assorted fabric scraps to complete an 8-inch heart block.

The Moundsville-Marshall County Public Library, 700 Fifth St., will offer a special after-hours film presentation of “A Walk on the Moon,” rated R, at 6 p.m. Thursday.

ArtsLink’s coffeehouse series will partner with Bands on Broad for a free concert at 6 p.m. Thursday near the town gazebo at Main and Broad streets in Middlebourne.
West Liberty University’s steel drum band and African drum-dance ensemble will perform. Food will be available for purchase, provided by Tyler County Girl Scouts Troop 10034.
Kathy’s House Foundation will hold a 5K walk-run and festival at St. Jude Park, Glen Dale, from 6-11 p.m. Friday. The event will include street fair food, inflatable attractions, games and live entertainment.

Crazy Horse family elder Floyd Clown Sr. will join author William Matson to discuss and sign their book, “Crazy Horse: The Lakota Warrior’s Life and Legacy,” at the Ohio County Public Library, 52 16th St., Wheeling, from 1:30-3:30 p.m. next Sunday, Aug. 18. The event is free and open to the public.
The book is based on the Crazy Horse family’s oral history. Clown, a great-nephew to Crazy Horse and keeper of the sacred bundle and pipe, will represent his family at the discussion. Books will be available at the signing.
Clown lives in Dupree, South Dakota, on the Cheyenne River Reservation. Matson, a documentary filmmaker, resides in Spearfish, South Dakota. This is Matson’s first book.
AARP Chapter 2994 of Belmont County will meet Aug. 22 at J.B. Martin Recreation Center, St. Clairsville.
The chapter will present a health information fair, with many local vendors, at the center from 9:30 a.m. to noon that day.
