WSO’s Percussion Ensemble Takes Stage at Historic Strand Theatre
WHEELING — Wheeling Symphony Orchestra announces the next performance of the WSO on the GO series, featuring Wheeling Symphony’s percussion ensemble. The performance will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at The Strand Theatre in Moundsville. This concert is free and open to the public.
The WSO on the GO ensemble features musicians Andrew Ferdig, Daniel Zawodniak, Alex Mendoza and is led by WSO musician, Eliseo Rael. Mr. Rael has forged a dynamic career of creative collaboration as a chamber musician, soloist, and teacher.
His marimba playing has been described as “beautiful” by the Pittsburgh Tribune Review, and he has been lauded as “talented” by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
In addition to his work as a chamber musician, he has also performed with many orchestras including the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, The West Virginia Symphony and UBS Verbier Festival Orchestra in Switzerland.
“If you are in the mood for an exciting and thrilling evening of music, experience this incredible concert performed by our WSO musicians,” said Bryan Braunlich, general manager of the WSO. “The evening will feature an eclectic array of music, including a performance of the virtuosic showstopper ‘Stubernic’ by Mark Ford. We want to thank our incredible friends at The Strand Theatre for helping make this concert possible, and we hope that everyone comes out and supports the Wheeling Symphony and its musicians at this historic and beautiful space in Moundsville.”
Because of the generous support of our sponsors and donors, including title sponsor McKinley Carter Wealth Services, all WSO on the GO concerts will be free to the public to entice and encourage new audiences to become long-time supporters. More information is available at wheelingsymphony.com.
