Dr. Zoot Delivers Big Band Dance Hall Music
WHEELING — The region’s premiere dance band and the Big Band 200 Club are teaming up to send winter swinging off into the sunset on Saturday.
Dr. Zoot will provide the music for the club’s dance Saturday at Wheeling’s historic Monument Place, home of the Osiris Shrine. The dance runs from 8-11 p.m., and is open to the public. Reservations are required, and can be made by calling 304-280-3206.
Dress is semi-formal, with jackets and ties for the men and evening wear or cocktail dresses for the ladies. The event is BYOB, although set-ups and the traditional coffee and doughnuts are provided free by the club.
Dr. Zoot is a Pittsburgh-based dance and show band that is always in high demand throughout the Tri-State region and beyond. Their distinctive sound and high-energy performance encompasses various styles including jazz, blues, swing, rock, Latin, funk and pop. The dance will feature their big band, ballroom and Latin specialties.
The 200 Club has offered ballroom dancing in the Ohio Valley since 1972.
