Wheeling Symphony Orchestra’s Woodwind Ensemble to Perform in Washington, Pa.
WHEELING — Wheeling Symphony Orchestra announces the next WSO on the GO concert, featuring a Wheeling Symphony Woodwind Ensemble, in coordination with the Bradford House Museum. The performance will be held at the Bradford House in Washington, Pa., on Tuesday, May 21 at 7 p.m., with doors to the museum opening at 6 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public.
People will have the opportunity to tour the house prior to the concert. The museum will be open to the public with docents offering historical information about David Bradford and the property. Local whiskey distillery, Liberty Pole Spirits, will also be offering samples as well as cocktails for purchase during the evening’s events. Spa Harmony will also be on site providing free chair massages in the garden from 6-7 p.m. WSO’s woodwind quintet will play in the garden behind house starting at 7 p.m. featuring musicians Barbara O’Brien (flute), Robert Driscoll Jr. (oboe), Roi Mezare (clarinet), Lynn Hileman (bassoon) and Jason Allison (horn).
“We are thrilled to be returning to the Bradford House again,” said Bryan Braunlich, general manager of the WSO. “This year we will be featuring our woodwind quintet, which will be lovely in the incredible garden of the Bradford House. With Liberty Pole Spirits once again providing some delicious samplings of their whiskey and the inclusion of some relaxing chair massage from Spa Harmony, it should be a lovely event for the community. We hope everyone comes out to enjoy the performance.”
In 2016, Wheeling Symphony Orchestra on the GO was established to increase the visibility of and gain new audiences for Wheeling Symphony concerts with ensemble performances in interesting locations throughout our region. Through this program, the Wheeling Symphony has been able to showcase the versatility of the talented musicians in the Orchestra throughout the Ohio Valley. Because of the generous support of sponsors and donors, all concerts will be free to the public to entice and encourage new audiences to become long-time supporters.
