ArtsLink Summer Coffeehouse Series set to kick off Thursday
NEW MARTINSVILLE — ArtsLink’s Summer Coffeehouse Series will kick off on Thursday, July 11, with a concert by the 40+ Band, with members from all over the Upper Ohio Valley.
The free concert will begin at 7 p.m on the lawn of the Francis Creative Arts Center at the corner of Maple Avenue and Washington Street in downtown New Martinsville.
The band 40+ is made up of six experienced musicians that have been making audiences in the Upper Ohio Valley dance since 2010. Their repertoire covers genres including classic rock, oldies, country rock, country, blues, and a cappella. The band members include Rick Taylor on keyboards, Lino Calvarese on lead guitar and trumpet, Terry Stuck on rhythm guitar, Tom Fonner on bass, John Zumpetta on drums, and Dave Nixon on rhythm guitar, harmonica and ukulele. All members perform lead and background vocals. Fonner and Zumpetta are natives of New Martinsville. They’ll be trying something new — an unplugged set. They’ll also be doing a crowd favorite, an a cappella set.
ArtsLink president, Scarlet Hood, said, “We’re delighted to present these talented artists. Rain or shine, bring a lawn chair and enjoy great entertainment.”
Light refreshments will be served.
