Magician to Perform At Area Libraries

The always amazing Dave Powers, magician extraordinaire, will perform Tuesday at the Moundsville-Marshall County Public Library and the Benwood-McMechen Library, as a special performance for the Fizz-Boom-Read science-themed summer reading program at the libraries.

He will be at the Moundsville Library at 11 a.m. and then at the Benwood-McMechen Library at 2 p.m.

The program is free and open to the public.

Powers is a popular performer at libraries, schools and other venues throughout the region.

His ever-changing acts as a magician and ventriloquist are in demand not only because of the high-caliber of his illusions and magic tricks, but also because they are full of humor and encouragement. His messages promoting reading and learning are blended with the magic acts in a way that makes them memorable for children.

A native West Virginian, Powers is a full-time professional magician and entertainer with many years of experience, having first ventured into the field of magic at the age of 7.

To this day he is constantly introducing new illusions, keeping his acts fresh and surprising.

The program is for all ages and is sponsored by the Evan G. Roberts Trust through BB&T. Call 304-845-6911 for more information.

The Moundsville Library is located at Fifth and Tomlinson. The Benwood-McMechen Library is located at 201 Marshall St. in McMechen.
