Storyteller at Library

Susanna “Granny Sue” Holstein will be performing “Folk Tale Science” at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Moundsville-Marshall County Public Library.

She also will perform at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Benwood-McMechen Public Library.

Holstein is a West Virginia storyteller.

Her love of storytelling began as a child in a family of 13 siblings.

Television was usually not part of their lives, and the children entertained themselves by reading, telling stories and making up games that often lasted for several weeks.

“Granny Sue” is a member of the National Storytelling Network, the West Virginia Storytelling Guild, and several regional storytelling and writing organizations.

The shows are free and sponsored by the Evan G. Roberts Trust/BB&T Bank.

They are part of the Marshall County Public Libraries Summer Reading Program “FIZZ-BOOM-READ.”
