Trek the Trail in the Moonlight
What’s better than a moonlight walk? A moonlight walk with friends and family.
Continuing with programming for the Trek the Trail campaign, the Wheeling National Heritage Area Corp is hosting a 2-mile Moonlight Walk at 10 p.m. today at Heritage Port.
After participating in the downtown First Friday activities, this is the perfect way to end the evening. The walk will take place moonlight or clouds.
The walk will start at Heritage Port by the flagpole walking a mile one way and then back. Everyone is welcome including families and leashed dogs.
Glow sticks will be provided to “light the way” on the trail.
There will be an opportunity for participants who haven’t signed up for the program to do so and receive a free pedometer. Participants also will be asked to fill out a short survey about the trail and, for doing so, will be eligible for some prizes that night. No pre-registration for this event is necessary.
You can officially register to participate in the program online at www.trekthetrail. org where you will log your daily activities by mileage. Those who register online and track their activities will be eligible to win a variety of prizes at the end of October when the project wraps up.
You also can join the page on Facebook to see upcoming events and activities at Wheeling Trek the Trail.
