Almost Famous at Showcase Summer Series

Almost Famous of Barnesville will perform an evening of bluegrass music at the second concert of the Showcase 2017 Summer Series, which is set for 7 p.m. Thursday, June 22, at Community Arts Place in Barnesville.

Members of the band, who all are vocalists, include Micah Fuchs, mandolin; Josh Hetrick, guitar; Harold Dailey, bass; and Steven Moore, banjo and guitar.

Fuchs serves as minister of the Church of Christ in Belmont and is principal at Barnesville High School. Hetrick, a roofer, also serves as a minister at the Freeport Church of Christ. Dailey, who started the bluegrass programs at Pennyroyal Opera House in Fairview, has about 50 years of music under his belt. Moore has collected several national bluegrass championships for banjo.

There will be poetry in the printed programs by the late Daphne Stephania Vetula, who was from Belmont.

A food stand will be open during the evening. Concert-goers can bring lawn chairs.

In the event of rain, events will be moved to the Little Rocks Learning Center on Shamrock Drive.
