Two nights of entertainment at Holy Grounds Cafe

Holy Grounds Cafe will open its doors twice this month — on Saturday, Aug. 12, and on Thursday, Aug. 17.

Doors open at 7 p.m. on both nights and the events will run until about 9:30 p.m.

On Aug. 12, Holy Grounds Cafe is sponsoring an evening of live gospel music by hosting two musical groups — Christ Unlimited and The Allegheny Angels.

Christ Unlimited is a trio of women who sing upbeat songs with a southern-gospel influence and a twist of jazz. The Allegheny Angels band features a combination of teens and adults united to perform gospel and bluegrass music. Both of these musical acts are inspiring and uplifting.

On Aug. 17, the first hour will be dedicated to open mic.

Local musicians of all styles are invited to share a few songs on stage. Shortly after 8 p.m., the New Age Adenas will take the stage for an 80-minute set.

New Age Adenas includes Eric Wellman on guitar and vocals, Mary Blake on vocals, guitar and hand percussion, and Greg Pawlack on mandolin and vocals. This trio plays a mix of adult alternative, classic rock and country music.

At Holy Grounds Cafe, snacks and beverages will be available for a minimum donation. There is a pool table, and free Wifi is available. Holy Grounds Cafe is located at 410 Hanover St., Martins Ferry. For information, call Lisa Buckingham at 740-633-2699 or find them on Facebook at Holy Grounds Cafe.
