Jimmy Gyro Offers Great Food for Great Value

WHEELING — The recently opened Jimmy Gyro diner located on the ground floor of the former Roger’s Hotel building on 14th Street, offer a variety of tasty Greek and Mediterranean dishes.

In addition to menu favorites such as: the Jimmy Stewart-steak gyro, Jimmy “The Greek”-traditional Greek gyro and the Jimmy Cagney chicken gyro, the business offers plenty of other choices including: pizza, fried hummus, a Greek salad and poutine — a Canadian specialty that features fries with cheese and gravy, and for an additional charge steak, chicken, or beef can be added.

Owner Mark Jaber, who opened the business this past summer, said he provides fresh good food for reasonable prices.

He said he receives a nice-sized lunch crowd, and many customers stop in for take-out orders.

The walls of the diner are decorated with nearly 60 framed photos of celebrities named “Jimmy,” such as: Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Hoffa and Steubenville native, Jimmy “The Greek” Snyder.

Jaber, who has been in the restaurant business for years said he was looking to open a quick-service restaurant in Wheeling.

“We wanted to do something that was quick and fast — service-wise — where people didn’t have to wait a long time,” he said.

“Once you place your order, you can have it in a couple of minutes,” he added.

Located at 44 14th Street, Jaber operates the business from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday-Friday; and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday. For take-out orders, call 304-233 5353.
