Michael Bertz and Lindsay Kaya were united in marriage on Saturday, Aug. 9, at Negril Beach, Jamaica.
The bride is the daughter of Connie and Doug Kaya of Oberlin.
The groom is the son of Stephen and Judy Bertz of Cadiz.
Holly Allsop served as matron of honor. Matthew Bertz, brother of the groom, was best man.
The bride is a 2002 graduate of Firelands High School in Oberlin. She graduated in 2006 from Baldwin Wallace College with a bachelor’s degree in Spanish. She is employed at Brunswick High School as a Spanish teacher. She also is attending graduate school at Cleveland State University, majoring in teaching English as a second language.
The groom is a 2002 graduate of Harrison Central High School in Cadiz. He also graduated from Baldwin Wallace College in 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. He graduated from the Ohio State Highway Patrol Academy in 2008 and is a police officer for the city of Strongsville. He is attending graduate school at Tiffin University, majoring in criminal behavior.
After a wedding trip at Sandals Negil Beach, the couple resides in Strongsville.
