Samantha Maree Shaffer and Ryan Patrick McQuaid were united in marriage at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at St. John Catholic Church, Bellaire, with the Rev. Dan Heusel officiating the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Stephen and Mary Ellen Shaffer of Wheeling.
The groom is the son of Paula Breen of Wexford, Pa., and Scott McQuaid of Harpers Ferry, W.Va.
Shannon Tamburin and Stephanie O’Donnell, sisters of the bride, were matrons of honor. Gabe D’Achille and T.J. Rumler served as best men.
Other attendants were Juliet Filter; Lauryn Stone; Tara McQuaid, sister of the groom; Cora McQauid, sister of the groom; Chance McQuaid, brother of the groom; Lance Redinger; Shane Shaffer, brother of the bride; James Dingman; Abigail O’Donnell; Molly Shaffer; Gabriella Shaffer; Grace Tamburin; Charlie Tamburin; Tate Shaffer; Nathan Tamburin and Tucker Tamburin.
A reception was held at the McLure Hotel, Wheeling.
The bride is a 2006 graduate of Wheeling Park High School. She is finishing her last semester of pharmacy school at Duquense University, Pittsburgh, and is expected to earn a Doctor of Pharmacy degree in May.
The groom is a 2001 graduate of North Allegheny High School, Pittsburgh. He served in the military for 10 years. He is earning a degree in information technology at La Roche College, Pittsburgh, and is expected to graduate in May.
After a wedding trip to Puerto Vallarta, the couple will reside in Pittsburgh.
