Rachel Clare Smay and Ryan Patrick Allchin were united in marriage at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, June 23, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Wheeling. The Rev. Dennis Scheulkens Jr. officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Jeffrey and Carole Smay of Wheeling.
The groom is the son of Jerry and Peggy Allchin of Kirtland, Ohio.
Mary Wisecup was maid of honor. Andrew Paden served as best man.
Other attendants were Nicole Smay, Megan Thompson, Mandy Lloyd, Andrea Owens, David Allchin, Jerry Allchin Jr., Tim Webster, Robert Rever and Stephen Smay Jr.
A reception was held at Generations banquet hall in Wheeling.
The bride is a graduate of Wheeling Central Catholic High School, a graduate of West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Science degree and a graduate of the University of Virginia with a master’s degree. She is employed as a speech-language pathologist in Columbus.
The groom is a graduate of Kirtland High School. He enlisted in the Navy in 2005 and was stationed in San Diego, Calif., where he worked as an aviation structural mechanic. He is working as a recruiter for the Navy in Marion, Ohio.
After a wedding trip to the Dominican Republic, the couple resides in Powell, Ohio.
