Melissa Katharine Gilligan and John Mason Peters were united in marriage at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, at St. Agnes Catholic Chapel in Shepherdstown, W.Va., with the Rev. T. Mathew Rowgh officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Jim and Cindy Gilligan of Wheeling.
The groom is the son of Jim and Jane Peters of Georgetown, Del.
Erin Gilligan, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. Jonathan Louderback was best man.
Other attendants included Chrissy DeSimone and Tad Kim.
A reception was held in the Potomac Room at the Bavarian Inn in Shepherdstown.
The bride is a graduate of Wheeling Central Catholic High School. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Shepherd University and is pursuing a master’s degree in human resources from University of Maryland University College. She is employed as a Bob Evans Restaurant general manager in Westminster, Md.
The groom is a graduate of Glen Burnie High School. He earned degrees in political science from the University of Maryland Baltimore County and a Juris Doctor from the University of Baltimore. He is employed as a restaurant manager by Eggspectation in Owings Mills, Md.
After a wedding trip to Maui, Hawaii, the couple resides in Owings Mills.
