Wittmer, Peckens

Dr. Shaylee Peckens Eric Wittmer

Dr. Shaylee Peckens and Eric Wittmer were united in marriage at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 30, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiltonsville, with the Very Rev. William Cross and Rev. Monsignor George Coyne officiating at the ceremony.

Parents of the couple are Doug and Judy Peckens of Yorkville and Robert and Rita Wittmer of Danvers, Illinois.

Breeci Peckens and Rami Peckens were maids of honor. Michael Wittmer and Drake Irwin were best men.

Other attendants included Stephanie Wittmer, Sydney Helms, Caitlin Helms, D.J. Peckens, Trey Helms, Spencer Helms, Sarah and Marisa Raimonde, Matthew and Christopher DiCenzo, Frances Pearl, Joe Zamberlan, Marsha Chrisagis, Dr. Lisa Costello, Jackie Menk, Dave Helms and Susan, Barry and Danielle Helms.

A reception followed at St. Florian Hall.

The bride is a 2003 graduate of Buckeye Local High School. She obtained an undergraduate degree from Youngstown State University and post-graduate degrees from The Ohio State University, American University and West Virginia University. She is an assistant professor at West Virginia University School of Medicine, Department of Family Medicine, and medical director for quality and performance improvement. She is a practicing board certified physician at WVU Family Medicine/Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

The groom is a 2003 graduate of Olympia High School. He attended Illinois Central College, where he played on the golf team. He received a bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture from the University Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Upon graduation, he completed a fellowship with focus on environmentally friendly golf courses and worked as a golf course architect and landscape designer. Wittmer is employed as a design engineer for the Thrasher Group in Bridgeport, West Virginia.

After a wedding trip to Sandals Resort in Jamaica, the couple will reside in Morgantown.
