BRIDGEPORT — Law enforcement officers from eastern Ohio and northern West Virginia still were searching late Wednesday for a man who robbed a service station on Tuesday.

According to Bridgeport police Lt. Andy Klotz, a white male about 40-50 years old walked into the Sunoco station on Main Street at 10 p.m. Tuesday. He acted as though he had a gun and said he wanted the money. The attendant told police the suspect had his hand in his pocket like he had a weapon.

Klotz said the suspect was described as wearing a white or light-colored jean jacket with a hood. He also had on blue jeans and was wearing glasses. He was further described as having a Fu Manchu mustache.

After making the employee get on the floor, the suspect grabbed approximately $200 from the cash register and fled the store, running east toward Wheeling. Police searched the area but didn’t locate anyone matching the description or a possible getaway vehicle.

Anyone with information concerning the robbery is asked to call the Bridgeport Police Department at (740) 635-9999.
