Chris Stirewalt To Speak at WLU Economics Club

City of Wheeling native and Fox News host Chris Stirewalt returns home this week to discuss the nation’s post-election climate.

Stirewalt, a former reporter for The Intelligencer and Wheeling News-Register, will speak at noon Wednesday at River City Ale Works, 1400 Main St. The event is sponsored by the West Liberty University Economics Club and is open to the public.

“It is my pleasure to welcome Chris back to the podium for his thoughts and observations at this important time,” said Erik Root, West Liberty’s associate professor of political science. “Chris talks daily with political headliners. Our students, alumni and the public will enjoy his presentation.”

His daily political tip sheet is seen by thousands of readers and he also makes daily appearances on the Fox News Channel including as a panelist on “Special Report with Bret Baier,” and “Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace.”

Prior to joining Fox News, he was a political editor for the Washington Examiner where he wrote a twice-weekly column and led political coverage for the newspaper.

He also served as political editor at the Charleston Daily Mail and West Virginia Media.

Stirewalt and his wife, Mary, and their two sons live in Alexandria, Va. Founded in 2009, the BB&T Center for Economic Philosophy at West Liberty University works to engage faculty, students and the public in an examination of the free market.
