New Pilot Flying J Travel Center to Open Along Ohio 149

As eager customers looked over the selection of hot pizzas and chicken wings Monday, others filled their gas tanks at the new Pilot Flying J Travel Center along Ohio 149.

Roughly 60 employees are now working at the center, just south of Interstate 70 Exit 208 near Union Local High School.

“Whether you are a professional driver, taking a family road trip, or driving to work, we want to give you a better experience on the road,” said Pilot Flying J CEO, Jimmy Haslam. “We hope you will enjoy the convenience and amenities available at the Belmont Pilot Travel Center.”

The plaza features eight diesel lanes and 12 gasoline lanes, nine showers, laundry facilities, ATMs, 67 truck parking spots and 60 car parking spots. There is also a Subway restaurant and a Cinnabon.

The main convenience store features pizza, chicken wings and other hot food, premium coffee and cappuccino selections, as well as a wide selection of beverages and personal care items.

Headquartered in Knoxville, Tenn., the company has over 650 retail locations and is the largest operator of travel centers and travel plazas in North America. The company’s network provides customers with access to over 60,000 parking spaces for trucks, over 4,400 showers and over 4,000 diesel lanes.

In the past year, the company has opened more than 20 stores in North America. The combined network of more than 650 Pilot Travel Centers and Flying J Travel Plazas across North America serves more than 1.3 million customers daily.

Just across the road, the new 63-room Sleep Inn and Suites was built to help house natural gas drillers and pipeliners who are working in the area as part of the Marcellus and Utica shale rush.
