Triadelphia Middle Students Donate Food

In the spirit of the season, local students donated food to those in need.

Members of the Triadelphia Middle School student council and seventh grade REACH club sponsored a non-perishable food drive the week of Nov. 18. Two REACH members and one student council member were in charge of visiting homerooms to collect the items. On Tuesday, all items were donated to Youth Services System.

According to Robb Bauer, Triadelphia Middle School assistant principal, the students’ actions showcased care for others.

“Kids in the 11-to-14 year-old range did this out of the goodness of their hearts,” Bauer said.

Students collected donations of items and also made a list of Thanksgiving dinner supplies that might be helpful during the holidays.

Gavin Curnes, a seventh grader in REACH club, said the food drive is a way to provide care for those in need.

“I want them to have as much as we do,” Curnes said.

“It’s really important because we have a lot we don’t need,” said Ritika Reddy, an eighth grade member of Triadelphia Middle School’s student council. “It is important to donate to people who don’t have as much as we do.”
