Concealed Weapon

At 12:06 a.m. Wednesday, during a traffic stop for a left of center violation, defective equipment and excessive noise, police arrested Ashley Bree Ferda, no address given, for carrying a concealed deadly weapon and possession of a controlled substance.

Dog Running

At 8:14 p.m. Tuesday, officers went to an East Wheeling residence regarding a dog running at large complaint.

Domestic Battery

At 6:17 p.m. Tuesday, police went to Chapline Street to investigate a domestic battery report.

Theft

At 9:50 a.m. Tuesday, police took a report at headquarters concerning an earlier theft.

Damaged Auto

At 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, investigated a damaged auto report on Wheeling Island.

MOUNDSVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT

At 7:05 p.m. Tuesday, officers responded to 9 Waynesburg Ave. in Cameron to a report of a man who shut a door on his girlfriend’s hand.

ST. CLAIRSVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT

On Tuesday, a resident of Young Lane reported that someone had been setting off a live animal trap he has in his yard. He reportedly told the chief of police he would be waiting for them next time with the motion lights turned off, according to reports. The resident was advised to call the police station if there were any more problems in the future.

BELMONT COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT

At 9:43 p.m. Tuesday, a resident on Mercer Road, reported cars at the residence were vandalized with eggs.

At 5:43 p.m. Tuesday, a deputy responded to National Road, Bridgeport, where person reported a juvenile complaint. The deputy spoke to complainant and to the juveniles.

At 5:42 p.m. Tuesday, a person reported illegal dumping off Cement Hill Road, Bellaire.

At 4:31 p.m. Tuesday, a deputy went to Gabriel Brothers’ Banfield Road, for a male shoplifter.

At 4:28 p.m. Tuesday, a person reported that while fishing at Power Line Park, St. Clairsville, he spotted a 4-wheel vehicle. He took it home. Bill’s Towing will pick up the ATV and bring it to the sheriff’s office.

At 2:03 p.m. Tuesday, deputy responded to West Captina Highway, Somerset Township for an illegal dumping incident.

On Tuesday, Thomas A. Arno, 55, of 10360 Campbell St., Byesville, was arrested for failure to appear. Bond was set at $190.

On Tuesday, a resident of Heather Lane, Flushing, came to station to report harassment incident.

On Tuesday, a deputy responded to the Ohio Valley Plaza for a property damage incident and hit-skip.

At 9:16 p.m. Monday, officials responded to Gabriel Brothers, 67739 Banfield Road, St. Clairsville, for a female shoplifter.

Bond Violation

On Monday, police arrested Chryn Isbell of Wheeling on a bond violation after responding to a call regarding a domestic situation on South Broadway Street.

Theft

On Monday, police went to a 25th Street address regarding an earlier bicycle theft.

Unattended Vehicle

On Monday, officers responded to a report of an unattended vehicle that had crashed at Interstate 70 East, Exit 2B. They had the vehicle towed from the site.

At 2:57 p.m. Monday, officers responded to 1503 Sixth St. to a report of a stolen lawnmower.

SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT

On Monday, deputies arrested Brandon S. Hackathorn, 26, of 163 17th St., Wheeling, for driving under suspension. Bond of $2,000 was posted.

On Monday, deputies arrested Jason J. Holtzman 35, of 125 Spruce St., Bellaire, for two counts of failure to appear. No bond was set.

On Monday, deputies arrested Joseph J. Renshaw, 27, of 210 Coyle Lane, Wheeling, for possession of a controlled substance.

On Monday, units responded to Key-Bellaire Road where a female had reportedly fallen from a bridge into the creek. A responding officer reported that Susan Swegard, 48, of 56335 Key-Bellaire Road, Bellaire, apparently had been driving a truck near her home when the left rear tire of the truck went off the bridge after she cut a turn. The vehicle’s frame was hung up on the bridge, and when Swegard stepped out of the truck, she fell approximately 20 feet into the creek below, causing serious injuries. Fire and emergency medical service units responded to extract Swegard from the creek, officials stated.

At 1:24 a.m. Monday, a resident on Barton Road, St. Clairsville, reported their home was broken into and several items were missing. According to report, entry was made through basement.

At 10:06 a.m. Sunday, another resident of Barton Road reported coming home to find a flat screen television, PlayStation and games were missing. There was no sign of forced entry, according to reports.

BRIDGEPORT

POLICE DEPARTMENT

On Monday, police arrested Elijah J. Slaughter, 26, of 725 High St., Bridgeport, for domestic violence.

ST. CLAIRSVILLE

POLICE DEPARTMENT

At 7:09 a.m. Monday, a subject described as a white male in a silver or white Chrysler with no registration on the back of the vehicle reportedly drove away from Crosby Oil, 188 E. Main St., without paying for $26 in gas. The complainant told police the driver traveled west on U.S. 40. Police searched the area but did not locate a vehicle matching the description.

At 2:31 p.m. Monday, a drive-off was reported at Crosby Oil. No description of the subject or vehicle was provided.

Jamie Imer was charged with theft, endangering children and possession of Schedules I and II drugs. Her bond was set at $4,500. Justin Imer was booked on on charges of theft and endangering children. His bond is set a $2,000.

On Thursday, deputies arrested Robert B. Davis, 30, of 4330 Harrison St., Bellaire, for failure to appear. Bond of $166 was posted.

On Thursday, deputies arrested Steven M. Tracy, 20, of 211 N Seventh St., Martins Ferry, for a judicial hearing.

At 8:43 p.m. Thursday, a deputy went to Boscov’s, Ohio Valley Mall, for a shoplifter.

At 9:09 p.m. Thursday, a deputy responded to a residence on St. Clairsville Street, St. Clairsville, for a verbal domestic incident.

At 1:21 p.m. Thursday, a deputy responded to Cash Ridge Road, Mead Township, for an ATV complaint.

Possession

At 1:14 p.m. Wednesday, police arrested Adam James Blackburn, of Wheeling, for possession of marijuana after detecting an odor of burned marijuana coming from his vehicle in Centre Wheeling.

At 4:25 p.m. Wednesday, officers responded to 1910 Second St. to a report of someone breaking into a garage apartment.

At 9:44 p.m. Wednesday, officers responded to 109 Morton Ave. to a man threatening to kill his girlfriend.

At 11:50 p.m. Wednesday, officers were dispatched to 1228 First St. to a female hitting a male.

OHIO STATE HIGHWAY PATROL

At 5:47 p.m. Tuesday, two 16-year-old girls from Beallsvlle, were injured in an accident on Ohio 148 in Washington Township. Both were taken to the Ohio Valley Medical Center, one by the Beallsville Emergency Squad and the other by Air Vac. One was driving an ATV and the other a 2013 Honda CRF100F. They were cited for unsafe vehicles and for vehicles not permitted on the highway. According to the report they were both westbound and collided. One vehicle slid off the right side of the road and one rolled on the roadway.

On Wednesday, deputies arrested Glen E. Evans III, 50, of 4 Fairview Terrace, Wheeling, for possession of Schedules I and II drugs. Bond of $2,500 was posted.

On Wednesday, deputies arrested Holly L. Clelland, 51, of 400 Center St., Martins Ferry, for possession of Schedule I and II drugs. Bond set at $2,500.

On Wednesday, deputies arrested Justin M. Lemasters, 28, of 56731 Jordan Run Road, Bellaire, as a fugitive from justice.

At 4:27 p.m. Wednesday, deputies responded to Claire’s Boutique, Mall Ring Road, for someone who stole a scarf and hat.

At 12:08 p.m. Wednesday, a person at Pet Supplies Plus, Ohio Valley Plaza, reported receiving three checks from the same individual and all were marked that the account was closed.

At 8:4 a.m. Wednesday, deputies responded to Morgan Hill Road, where 10 horses were on the road. The owner was notified.

At 4:11 p.m. Saturday, a deputy went to Walmart, where an identified man walked out of the store with a television.

At 4:49 p.m. Sunday, deputies went to Ferry Landing, Shadyside, for a narcotics complaint. According to the report, two persons were taken to an unspecified hospital; some drugs were confiscated.

At 10 a.m. Sunday, deputies were called to Home Street, Barton for an assault. One person was taken to Wheeling Hospital.

On Sunday, a resident at Lansing Gardens, Lansing, reported someone kicked in the door and took about $350 in cash as well as money from children’s piggy banks.

On Sunday, a caller reported that two individuals were found unresponsive and with shallow breathing at Dillies Trailer Court on Ferry Landing Road, Shadyside. The caller described the situation as a drug overdose. One individual was reportedly taken to Belmont Community Hospital. Deputies responded and confiscated spoons, needles and prescription medications from the premises. Officials said charges were pending.

On Sunday, deputies requested a tow truck from Bill’s Towing and assisted FBI agents at an address on Pike Street in Neffs regarding an investigation.

On Sunday, a man reportedly hit someone in the head with an ax handle and headed in a truck toward Loretta Road in Barton. The victim was taken to Wheeling Hospital for treatment. Francis Ayers, 50, of Barton, was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault. He posted $2,500 bond.

On Sunday, a caller stated that his girlfriend said an individual had punched her in the head and threw her out of a vehicle. The caller reportedly located her on Hope Chapel Road, Bellaire, and was taking her to East Ohio Regional Hospital. The caller subsequently advised that his girlfriend had been under the influence of heroin and had invented the story in order to avoid getting into trouble with him.

On Sunday, a caller from Bellaire said his son came to his residents and stated a subject was chasing him with a gun sticking out of the window of his Trans Am. His son reportedly said the subject had shot at him several times while chasing him. Deputies contacted the alleged victim, who did not want to cooperate or press charges, according to the report.

On Monday, Mahlon C. Shields, 26, of 56 Mill Road, Smithfield, was arrested for failure to appear. No bond was set.

On Monday, Thurman W. Perdue, Sr., 39, homeless, was arrested for failure to appear. No bond was set.

At 9:34 p.m. Monday, caller at National Road Complex, St. Clairsville, reported he came home, found door open and all of his guns were stolen. Deputies responded and took information for a report.

On Monday, a caller on Mall Ring Road, St. Clairsville, reported finding $400 in counterfeit money in bushes. Deputy responded and retrieved two counterfeit $20 bills.

On Monday, complainant on Colerain Street, Colerain, reported someone took the radiator, battery and other items out of truck.

On Tuesday, Jeffrey S. Davis, 43, of 384 Byard Road, Waynesburg, Pa., was arrested for failure to appear. Bond set at $1,000.

MOUNDSVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT

At 12:05 a.m. Tuesday, officers responded to 1509 Fifth St. to a report of two women and one man fighting in the street.

At 4:02 p.m. Tuesday, officers took a report on station of three boats that were broken into at the Tenth Street boat dock.

OHIO STATE HIGHWAY PATROL

At 3:40 p.m. Tuesday, a 17-year-old male from Lafferty was cited for failure to control following an accident on US. 40 in Pease Township. According to the report, the juvenile was driving a 1999 Oldsmobile Alero east. Richard A. Picetti, 62, of 68441 Liston Ave., Lansing, was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer west. The juvenile drove off the right side of the road, then drove onto the road, spinning and struck Picetti’s vehicle. The Wolfhurst Emergency Squad responded but the drivers were not transported. A 16-year old male in the juvenile’s car was taken to East Ohio Regional Hospital by his mother. Deborah J. Picetti, 57, of Lansing, was transported to Wheeling Hospital by the Wolfhurst Emergency Squad.

At 5:45 p.m. Tuesday, Ray L. Elerick, 45, of 44100 Lafferty Road, St. Clairsville, was cited for assured clear distance following an accident on U.S. 40 in Richland Township. According to the report, Michael P. Marolis, 57, of 68741 Shepard Drive, St. Clairsville, was driving a 2010 Kia Sedona and Elerick, a 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt. Both were driving east on U.S. 40. Moralis stopped to turn left and was struck in the rear by Elerick’s car.

Main St., Bethesda, was injured in a motorcycle accident on Ohio 149 near Flushing and was taken by medical helicopter to University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. According to the report, Harris drove off the right side of the road at an unsafe speed and struck an embankment. The patrol said he was not wearing a helmet and had head and leg injuries. Alcohol is suspected, according to the patrol.

Two Arrested

At 10:40 p.m. Thursday, deputies responded to a residence on Barnesville-Hendrysburg Road, for a domestic incident.

At 9:47 p.m. Thursday, a Colerain area resident called and said someone was on their property in a beat-up car. Deputies responded and found a 2004 Hyundai Accent and took the male to the post for a test. He was then brought to the sheriff’s office to wait for a ride to his residence.

At 9:48 p.m. Thursday, the principal at Union Local Schools called and said a 16-year-old male made threats to a bus driver and said he was going to stab someone. He was brought to the office and had no weapon. His probation officer was notified and will file charges. The juvenile was then taken to Sargus Center.

A patrol spokesperson said Thorman ran from the scene and was picked up at his residence.
