Park Alumni Discuss OT Careers

Three Wheeling Park High School graduates recently returned to their alma mater to discuss career opportunities in occupational therapy.

WPHS alumni Casey Main, Jesse Channell and Steven Helms were joined by fellow West Virginia University student, Thomas Boyd, visited the school to discuss educational and career information in regards to WVU’s School of Medicine, Occupational Therapy program.

Students in the Health Science Education Clinical Specialty-1 class learned about patient care, performing clinical rotations, and the requirements needed to become a successful candidate for entrance into the Occupational Therapy programs, which is a five year masters degree program.

“It’s always nice to see past Wheeling Park High School students return and visit the school to let students learn about the health care programs available that they are involved in,” said Lisa Stillian, RN, BS, Health Science Education teacher at WPHS.
